Educators and community members are invited to a free “Computer Science Playground” event. Space is limited. Registration is required. Experience firsthand robots used for teaching K-12 students how to code.
Technology and Innovation in Education (TIE) Learning Specialists, Kim Clark and Julie Erickson, will feature a variety of robots and computer science resources. Clark and Erickson will also present an update about the current status of computer science in South Dakota. Coding is a key component of digital literacy for students today and has been shown to help children in other areas, such as math, creativity, and communication.
Participants may leave the event with a robot of their very own--there will be a free giveaway of the versatile “Edison Robot.” This event is provided by TIE, in partnership with Code.org.
