SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Starting Friday, April 5, at noon, the South Dakota Department of Transportation will re-open Highway 115 from 0.3 miles south of Lincoln County Highway 110 to one-half mile north of 272nd Street in Sioux Falls until weather conditions improve.
With the recent rainfall amounts exceeding expectations, combined with the extended forecast being less than favorable, the SDDOT in conjunction with T&R Contracting decided to open Highway 115 to minimize damage to adjacent local roadway systems for an anticipated two-week duration or until favorable construction conditions arrive.
The $18.3 million project will reconstruct 3.3 miles of Highway 115 (Minnesota Avenue) from just south of the 85th Street intersection to 0.3 miles south of the Lincoln County Highway 110 intersection. Work includes grading, structure, concrete paving, curb & gutter, asphalt concrete pavement, storm sewer, traffic signals and lighting.
The prime contractor for this project is T&R Contracting of Sioux Falls.
The substantial completion date for the 2019 construction season is Nov. 15, 2019.
The overall completion date for the 2020 construction season is Nov. 6, 2020.
